MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Caduceus Club is to support and advance medical education and research, and serve patient care by partnering with the UAB Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine, and to identify and recruit members who share the goals of the Caduceus Club.
VISION STATEMENT
The Caduceus Club will become a recognizable source of
support for Heersink School of Medicine students to produce outstanding physicians and leaders for the future.
GOALS
Increase the support of the Caduceus Club for Heersink School of Medicine students at their educational sites throughout Alabama in the practice medicine in Alabama by providing financial support and encouragement to attend learning activities not otherwise available to them. These activities include support for in-state approved electives, presentations at scientific meetings, travel support for participation in mission, tropical medicine, and other service-learning experiences not available to them in the state, but related to their long-term practice aspirations.
Increase awareness of the Club’s activities among academic and private practice physicians in Alabama
Increase membership numbers and involvement in the the work of the Club.
Develop a long-term financial plan to sustain the organization.
Who may become a member?
Anyone (medical or non-medical) who contributes $200.00 per year to the Club.
