Who we are & what we do
The Caduceus Club is a 60-year-old nonprofit organization composed of physicians, other healthcare workers, and community health advocates interested in supporting the needs of medical students at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine at all of its campuses. That support includes advancement of their medical education by travel fellowships to present their research at professional and scientific meetings, support for educational away-rotations and mission trips, and funding to the UAB Department of Education Student Emergency Fund. We encourage student participants to consider Alabama as their final career destination.
How the club is organized
The Club is organized around a Board of Directors with elected officers led by a President and supported by an Executive Director. Advice and oversight are provided to the Board of Directors by the Board of Advisors. All Board members are Club members.
Where support is derived
All of the financial support required to provide these opportunities for students is derived from the annual membership dues of the members and charitable donations made to the Caduceus Club Development Fund.

How to apply for travel scholarship
Students interested in applying for a Travel Fellowship should review the guidelines and apply online. The awards process is ongoing. Students may apply at any time on the “Travel Fellowship” page.
